The complete information for all competitions to be
conducted by Sunday School is below.
When: 10:00a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013(Singing, Story Telling, Bible
Reading and Elocution will be held on this day)
Where: Atlanta Mar Thoma Church (775 Rays Rd. Stone Mountain, GA 30083).
Singing
When: February 9th,2013
For students: All students
Songs:
English
o Trust and Obey. (Beginners to 3rd grade)
o Stand up stand up for Jesus. (4th grade to 7th grade)
o Lead kindly light. (8th grade to 10th grade)
Malayalam
o Anugrahathin adhipathiye (Beginners to 3rd grade)
o Shudhikai nee yeshu sameepe poyo (4th grade to 7th grade)
o Vaazhthin, Vaazhthin (8th grade to 10th grade)
Rules:
Sing
o only the first stanza with chorus
o if no chorus, the first two stanzas
Microphone will be provided
Will be evaluated on
o Pitch and melody
o Voice power and projection
o Clarity
o Rhythm
Story Telling
For students: Beginners to 4th Grade only

Bible Reading
For students: 5th grade and up only.

Rules
Microphone will be provided
Reading portions will be assigned by drawing lots
Will be given the NIV Bible
5th to 7th grades
o Passage from only New Testament
8th to 10th grades
o Passage from Old and New Testament
Will be evaluated on clarity of reading
o Time to find the portion
o Clarity o Audience contact
o Voice power and projection
Elocution
For students: 5th Grade to 10th Grade. Students will be in two groups.

Rules:
NOTE:
o Absolutely no reading from papers/notes/cards allowed. This will be strongly
enforced with automatic deduction of 5 points.
o For 5th to 7th grade announced 2 weeks prior to the competition.
Prepare both the following. Judges will assign the topic at the time of
the competition
Childlike faith and childish faith
How my faith helps me in my daily life.
For 8th to 10th grade: The judges will assign the topic 5 minutes
before the student approches the podium.
o Only One 3x4 card permitted with points for reference, NOT TO READ

Memory Verse Rules
When:
February 24th.
For students: All students
Rules
Oral for Nursery to 4th Grade
Written for 5th Grade and up.
There are grade specific Memory Verse Portions assigned for each grade. These
portions are mandatory for the grades assigned. Along with these portions, the
students can learn bonus portions to receive extra points Points.
Please use the NIV Bible.
NOTE: The bonus portions will be considered only if all the required portions
assigned to the grade have been completed.
